We Talk To You

How about instead of investing in pattern sheets that could easily go out of

style, or damage, invest in solid colors, which are timeless.

However, rather than doing the whole bed in one color, mix and match using a color palette like the one below.   After all you don't dress all in a single color, you coordinate right?  Well do the same with your bed linens.

Do the top sheet in one color, pillow cases in another two and the fitted sheet in yet another.  If you choose a c...

In the end, we all have our own threshold and tolerance about people, society, and who we bring into our lives. The upshot is to be wiser and more intentional about everything in our lives period... which very much includes who we let in. ---Not because they could harm us, but because with EVERY human we get close to, we naturally inherit their good and bad drama. We are all, to some degree empathic, so we can't help absorbing a part of each spirit we get close to. The questi...

We all do it.  We postpone, put off and habitually ignore. We then rationalize procrastination as everything but what it really is...apathy. We tell ourselves that it's because we don't have time, when in truth, we're the ones who regulate where we'll spend our hours.  We tell ourselves that we don't know how, yet we're then ones who decide what we learn.  We tell ourselves that it's uncomfortable when we know the truth that not doing something about it could, in the end, mut...

We as humans can't get through any kind of time span here, without getting dinged up a bit...hurt actually.  We learn early that a human shell is the only way to survive. The only way to protect our spiritual Self, within. Over time, we begin to live two lives.  The one we show the world, and the one we protect, and only reveal when we feel safe.  The problem is, really feeling safe, gets harder and harder as we age, when it logically should become easier.  It's a case of kno...

Conversely, this upbringing did foster independence. It honed my imagination which was so vital to a young lad with severe dyslexia that would remain undiagnosed until high school. In the formative years, writing or reading was all but futile and a constant reminder that I was ‘challenged.’ As a result, media (TV and radio) was a salvation since it was an easily accessible audio-visual. It became the continuing thread no matter where we were.

Distant background media in anothe...

You know how important I feel it is to never let life happen without intention, but to take charge and make it happen. Setting the groundwork for each new phases of one’s life is essential if the true desire is to continue to live a meaningful existence. By "meaningful" I mean one that continues to challenge and educate versus keeping us trapped in old comfort zones.

Today, we watch others reinvent all the time now. In a social media-driven world we are bombarded with personal...

The truth is, we stop really "seeing" what's in our homes after awhile. In those brief moments of clarity when we do, the idea of changing anything means we actually have to make some serious choices.  It's not just one thing that has to be considered either.  Often it becomes this ridiculous domino effect, right? Like a house of cards, one consideration leads to many.  When you're tired, distracted and feeling vulnerable, needy and dinner is STILL not on the table, it's the...

In and of itself, the gift is not unique.  It’s standard issue for every human being. But when it is employed by us who are one-of-a-kind individuals, gets mixed with our specific spiritual DNA, filtered through our unique life perspectives and flung out there into the world around us, it becomes undeniably ours and ours alone and bears our stamp.

Some choose not to open the gift.  It sits there in the closet. Its shiny ribbons catch the light every time we get our coats as we...
